CSA Woodstock Week #3 eggs, yes 6/30/10

Here’s a nice idea for salad: I lightly saute vegies(kohlrabi, carrot, malibar, sqkuash, whatever you have) in garlic, olive oil, salt and whatever else, like onion or parsley) then chill it. Then top the lettuce with this. It’s good and different.
The squash is almost ready.

Squash Tips and REcipes

You can stuff the round, or long squashes with anything. Here’s a few ideas. Remember, the round squashes can still be used in breads or chopped and stirfried, or chopped and use as you would a cuk salad. I marinade the chopped pieces in vinegar and honey and add to slaws or potato salad.

I get excited when some new friend asks about the CSA, All things Organic program!! It means folks are getting the idea that Organic & Locally grown food has so much more energy than “other” produce. It’s good to see people taking care of themselves, the environment and their families. We know that it may be easier to go to the local superstore. Just like we know it is easier to gas and spray our food but we choose not to
. Thank you for blessing us with your order!

June 20th Logan Square Market and CSA’rs First Pickup + note to half share

I’m looking forward to meeting each of my L.S. CSA’rs who have supported me this year and blessed us with orders. Thank you.
Remember your pickup is 10-2p.m on Sundays.
Just had a huge storm blow in, lost some fennel and spinach and some shade clothe and they have blocked north and west bound traffic on my street currently.
Losing power frequently so this is short. Thanks, see you Sunday.
* Note: instead of sorrel, romaine. thanks
