Week #7, Woodstock CSA eggs,YES! 7/27/11

AGAIN, READ YOUR INSTR. CAREFULLY.
Full Shares:
l. Take a bag from the top shelf of your fridge
2. TAke a sqash from the table opposite the fridge(marked full or half share.)
What’s in the bags:
Broccoli
Assorted Vegies with herb, Baby squashes
Sorrel( see below)*
Parmex Carrots
Floridor squash: cut, stuff bake, or drag thru flour and spices and cook in oil etc.
Tascano Kale
Mars Onions
Thai Basil(sautee this with anything, especially squash and garlic)
Half Shares.
l. Take a bag from the bottom shelf of your fridge
2. Take a squash from the table opposite the fridge, marked full or half share.
What’s in the bags:
Assorted Vegies with herb
Sorrel( see below)*
Parmex Carrots

* Vinegar, O.J., toasted sesame oil(opt or just any oil), garlic,curry and chopped sorrel. * or google pesto for protiens.

CSA Logan Square week 6, July 24.2011, no eggs

Satan called yesterday, he said he wants his weather back. Well,
we are finally got some much needed rain. About 1 1/4″. then I dug potatoes, so it’s still pretty dry.

Well, I think I’ve lost most of the squash on the 3rd property due to pollination problems. I’ve sown 160 more feet of the summer squash and don’t expect to harvest any Winter Squash. That’s okay we have beans coming up and for the Winter, Sweet Potatoes.

Okay, looks like major pollination problems w/ the squash. I can’t say what will happen.
Sorry I’m giving you so much dill, make pesto and freeze if you need to.
Note: leek scapes are like garlic scapes, use for oniony flavour.
